A seven-day yoga workshop was organized by Department of Sports and Physical Education

A seven-day yoga workshop was organized for the students by the Department of Sports and Physical Education in the premises of Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar, from September 11 to September 18, 2026. The objective of the program was to make the students aware of physical and mental health through yoga and to motivate them to stay away from the social evils like drug addiction and violence.
The program was inaugurated by the college’s acting principal Dr. Manohar Goyal and head of the self-finance department Dr. Niti Daryal.
During the workshop, students practiced various yoga postures. These included meditation, Vajrasana, standing postures, forward bending postures, backward bending postures, Mandukasana, spinal twisting postures, balancing postures, and Surya Namaskar. Students also practiced pranayama and mudras.
On this occasion, it was explained that yoga helps keep children away from addiction and other bad habits and plays an important role in their physical, mental, spiritual, and social development. Making yoga a part of your regular lifestyle can be a positive step towards a healthy and happy life.
Approximately 150 college students enthusiastically participated in the workshop. During the program, sports coach Babita Sood and Dr. Sachin Kumar encouraged students to incorporate yoga and pranayama into their daily routine.
