Annual Convocation on April 25
Mukand Lal National College, Yamuna Nagar, celebrated its Annual Convocation on April 25, with profound academic fervour. The ceremony honored the hard work and perseverance of 227 graduates from various undergraduate and postgraduate programs, marking a significant milestone in their professional journeys.
The proceedings commenced with the presentation of the Annual Report by the Principal, Dr. Anil Dhawan. Highlighting the college’s trajectory of excellence, Dr. Dhawan showcased the institution’s recent academic and co-curricular milestones. He specifically noted the college’s impressive placement record, reinforcing the college’s commitment to career readiness.
The Convocation Address was delivered by the Chief Guest, Sh. Jung Bahadur Goyal, a retired Punjab cadre IAS officer and an acclaimed literary figure. An author of over 22 books across Hindi, Punjabi, and English, Sh. Goyal delivered a soul-stirring address that transcended traditional academic advice. "Education is not merely about degrees; it is about the evolution of the human spirit," Sh. Goyal opined. He urged the graduates to lead lives rooted in honesty, dignity, and empathy, emphasizing that true success lies in the upliftment of the lower strata of society and finding scientific solutions to pressing societal challenges. He further encouraged the youth to Foster a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation through startups, inculcate a strong national character and maintain unwavering belief in their dreams while exploring new global horizons.
The ceremony also served as a platform to reward exceptional academic performance. Several students were honored with prestigious cash prizes:
Shivani (MA Political Science, 10th Position in University) and Apeksha Goyal (B.Sc. IT) were awarded Rs. 11,000 each.
Vanshika (B.Sc. Life Science) and Bindu (M.Sc. Chemistry) received Rs. 5,000 each for their outstanding results.
Closing the ceremony, Dr. Ramesh Kumar, General Secretary of Mukand Institutions, delivered the Vote of Thanks. He reaffirmed the management’s unwavering support for the alumni, specifically extending an invitation to graduates to leverage the support of Mukand Institutions for any future startup or entrepreneurial endeavors. The event was graced by the presence of the members of the College Governing Body and heads of various Mukand sister institutions, all of whom joined in wishing the graduates a purposeful and successful future.
