Awareness about road safety event

An event aimed at raising awareness about road safety was organized at Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar, in collaboration with the Yamunanagar Municipal Corporation and the Anti-Corruption Crime Prevention NGO. Shri Ghanshyam Das Arora, an MLA from Haryana, attended the event as the chief guest. College Principal Dr. Manohar Goyal welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries by presenting them with saplings.
Along with Shri Ghanshyam Das Arora, the event was attended by Smt. Rozy Malik (former Chairperson), Shri Vipul Garg (Chairman, Market Committee), Bharatiya Janata Party District General Secretary Shri Narendra Rana, Mandal General Secretary Shri Sandeep Bajaj, Councilors Shri Vikram Pahuja (Ward 8) and Shri Vimal Sharma (Ward 7), Mandal President Shri Aman, and other prominent guests. Representing the Municipal Corporation were SDO Mrinal Jaiswal, SDO Rajesh, and Media In-charge Mukta.
In his address, the chief guest, Shri Ghanshyam Das Arora, encouraged students to follow traffic rules—specifically, to wear helmets while riding two-wheelers, fasten seat belts in four-wheelers, and refrain from using mobile phones while driving. He emphasized that road safety is a collective responsibility of every citizen and that many accidents can be prevented by adhering to traffic regulations.
College Principal Dr. Manohar Goyal stated that fostering awareness about road safety among the youth is the need of the hour. He urged the students to follow the rules themselves and to encourage others to practice safe road behavior.
During the event, students from the Commerce Association screened a short film on road safety. The film effectively highlighted the adverse consequences of ignoring traffic rules and underscored the importance of exercising caution on the road.
The event was moderated by a student named Gargi. Dr. Mahesh Kumar, Dr. Amandeep Batra, and Ms. Babita Sood—faculty members in charge of the college’s Road Safety Club—played a pivotal role in the successful organization of the event. The program concluded with a message urging students to follow road safety rules and spread awareness within society. It inspired the students to become responsible citizens and to contribute actively toward the prevention of road accidents.
