My India Youth Connect programme organised at MLN College

On the occasion of National Sports Day, Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar, organized the "Mera Bharat Yuva Connect" and "Khelo India Yuva Samvad" programs. The college’s NSS unit was selected to participate in the two-way dialogue with select colleges across the country.
During the event, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually launched the ’Khelo India Dialogue’ and encouraged the youth to adopt the spirit of sportsmanship, actively participate in sports, develop a vision for the 2036 Olympics, and maximize the use of technology in sports. He encouraged the youth by citing the examples of para-archer Sheetal Devi and Paralympic rifle shooter Avani Lekhara.
College Principal Dr. Manohar Goyal welcomed and honored the Chief Guest, Mrs. Suman Bahamani, Mayor, Municipal Corporation Yamunanagar-Jagadhri, and other guests by presenting them with bouquets and mementos. Youth icon Mr. Chetan Agnihotri highlighted the role of the government’s sports policies in the achievements of athletes in sports. He urged students to take maximum advantage of the sports facilities available at the college and pursue sports as a career. He specifically remembered the contribution of the college faculty in the development of their careers.
Following this, a youth dialogue was held under the guidance of Dr. Ankur, in which sports icon and weightlifter Mr. Gurnoor Singh, skater Mr. Arjun Bakshi, and Mr. Chetan Agnihotri interacted with the youth. Gurnoor Singh, who is still in school, credited his father’s encouragement as a key factor in his achievements. All speakers expressed confidence that India will achieve new heights in sports by winning more medals in the coming years.
Topics discussed with NSS volunteers included "Improving the Sports Ecosystem in the Country," "Nurturing Talent for the 2036 Olympics," "Youth Leadership and Youth Participation in Governance," "Youth Empowerment for a Developed India," and "Drug-Free Youth for a Developed India." Volunteers also submitted their suggestions in the "Mera Bharat Idea Box."
Principal Dr. Manohar Goyal encouraged students to embrace sports in their lives and expressed his gratitude to the Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, and all the guests present. He congratulated Ms. Omkar Swami, Deputy Director of Mera Yuva Bharat, Yamunanagar, and the NSS volunteers for the success of the program. Deputy Director Ms. Omkar Swami and the college’s NSS program officers, Dr. Rahul Singh, Dr. Umang Bareja, and Dr. Ankur, played a significant role in the successful organization of the program. Dr. Umang Bareja moderated the stage. The program concluded with the group singing of the National Anthem and the National Song.
